Yes. I was really hoping he'd be VP for Obama.

Yes, I think his political career is done. Once this scandal dies down, I don't think we'll hear much about him anymore.

Wow! I'm surprised at the responses. I do not believe it will end John Edwards political career He may not ever become president now, though I kind of thought that was already done with after this last failed attempt (two strikes and your out). I believe he will go on and do other things ... just not president.

Well I too believe he will go on to do other things, but I don't think they'll be political. I assume he'll go back to being a lawyer. They were saying on the news the other day that this isn't going away any time soon. It's not JUST an affair (bad enough) but the issue of the amounts of money she was paid is going to be closely scrutinized, and although he's currently denying knowing anything about it (as he denied the affair) it's hard to imagine his supporters paying this woman that much money and him knowing nothing about it. There's also still the issue of paternity. Yesterday her sister said "I challenge him to take the test (paternity)". I've heard the woman involved isn't planning to, but it's obvious she must have told her own sister that he was the father. So I think there will be more sh*t to hit the fan before this is all over.

Interesting ... I haven't followed it that closely, working too much, and I hadn't seen anything about the woman being paid money. If it was just a plain of fashioned affair, even with a child born out of wedlock --- but if there is money involved that might ruin things a bit for him.

What an idiot.
