Hezbollah are extremists and have extreme ideas. I am not that extreme to agree with that. I beleive they should co-exist, and not fight, but Isreal is slowly, slowly taking away right of the palestinians.
Judaism is older than Islam, Jews lived in that land, they ruled Jerusalem, then came the Christians and then the Muslims. So they do have a right to the land. When Islam ruled the land it was peacefully and Jews, Christians all lived together.
The problem arose (correct me if i am worng)when after WWII all the jews came from Germany and settled in Palestain and declared themselves a state.
They want control over Jerusalem, which hs holy sites for all three religions and that is when they started fighting like this.

I really dont know why they hate each other, our religion was born out of their religion. We respect all the jewish prophets as our own, I even named my son Ibrahim which is arabic for Abraham after the prophet and my baby is Yusaf arabic for Joseph, again from Judaism and even Christianity. The religions are so similar, the customs are so similar. I dont know where and why it went so wrong in the Middle East.

There's the question we all want answered.

at its simplistic form too small a land space for too many nations, no compromise possible as compromise appears as weakness, that loses face, that perpetuates appearances of weakness, and therefore each side can push its territorial demands, thus continuing the circle, or whirlpool of destruction.

This would even tax the wisdom of Solomon

JMHO and I said it was a simplistic view

it may be simple, but it is very well stated.

Thank you Anne and Rakshanda. Oh if we had the wisdom to figure it all out.

The seperation between church and state should be enforced more in our political process. Somehow we have become a democracy when we were set up to be a republic, a much more structured government with the same amount of accountablilty and freedoms for the people, just structured. There is way too much religious sentiment in our national politics.

You know Rakshanda, I never saw it as racist b/c it's a different bias then I have commonly seen, but I get the point now. I never thought about the effects of sanctions until I met someone from the ME and they explained how it affected the common person. The inability to get goods and having the economy hurt too, it doesn't affect the leaders though, only the average person trying to survive. In Pallestine right now the common person if they are getting help or aid for their survival is probably getting it from Hezbolla. They probably only have the information that is being told to them by Hezbollah, they are probably cut off from the rest of the world by now, with every bomb comfirming what has been told to them.

Stuff like this creates even more problems. It's like a cat chasing a mouse through a stranger's house tearing it apart. If that happens enough the stranger will end up hating cats.
