It seems there is alot of Bush bashing on this site, but I happen to like him-alot. What most of you might find more shocking is that my husband really likes him---my husband the Army Captain, who has been to the middle east on 4 different tours.
Usually it's just the oposite. I don't hate Bush, I dislike the administration and what it's doing to our country. They are using the "nice guy you want to have a beer with" as a puppet for their criminal agenda. But as you say, JMO.

I do agree with you that this information was a calculated accident. Just think it's odd that he would say the actual quote about syria, when we are supposedly fighting "the war on terror". Seems ironic that it would be considered that simple.

to almost quote the very popular entertainer, eminem, "would those of you who have never used the word shi-, please stand up? please stand up!..."

just adding fuel...i'm a bush fan and i like it that he uses foul language because I use foul language. makes him seem more real to me.

Is Bush really so much of a boy scout that they would waste the paper to print about him cursing? My two year old says stuff worse then that (F*** you a--hole for instance)lol. Yeah, I'm a bad mom. Anyway, I don't think that the media should really be wasting time on curse words when there's so much other stuff going on.

How pathetic that this is getting this much coverage when real issues need to be dealt with. The mainstream media needs to get their priorities straight.

I agree with Debbie this doesnt deserve the coverage it is getting and you all know whos fan club Im in.

I dont believe in this type of reporting it was not a joint statement, it was not a published statement by George Bush it was an informal moment at lunch.

It didnt represent America badly you can bet things get hotter, more heated, and much more expletives exchanged behind closed doors between nations representative before they get down to issuing joint statements and decisions.

Thats all I am interested in the bottom line and how they reach it possibly Im not interested in hearing about childish language or spats till issues have been finalized on any topic.

The G8 or any world leaders meeting will have their difficulties on an individual level its that consensus that matters

Wow, I never thought this would become such a big deal. The cigar happened in PRIVATE. This is our leader, in a very public and distinguished setting, using a curse word and talking with food in his mouth to another distinguished world leader. So if someone were to sit down beside you at a dinner party and start talkng to you with food in their mouths and cussing you would think Oh, my goodness what a wonderful human being? I am not a political person at all. I usually could care less about anything Bush does. But I thought that it was really funny. I will def. remember in the future not to post anything on here that would express my oppinion about George Bush. Sorry. I was wondering why I didn't see any articles on here with that subject.

Don't feel that way and post any funnys or topics you want to. Anything with the words Bush or Clinton will get somebody's panties in a wad no matter what context it is in. Don't let that bother you. It's always interesting to read all the different views on it.JMO

I think the point, Jen, is more than these people we put on pedestals as "leaders" are still very much human beings. They act as such. Not every minute of these meetings is pageantry and glitz, china cups and pleasant asides.

For what it's worth, Mr. Blair didn't look the least bit taken aback by either what Mr. Bush said, or his delivery. I don't think any of the G8 leaders would be. I'm sure, as Anne neatly said before me, that there's far, far worse than that being said or done throughout these meetings.

The "hot" microphone is a trap for anyone. ANYONE. And there are pitifully view public figures who haven't been caught by it.

That having been said, I'm not offended by his usage. But then, I've a mouth on me as well.
