Tell that to the families of the victims of the African embassy bombings. It is just how you look at things. Omission is just as guilty at times.

Plus, his lying did affect things and set in motion some of the events of recent years. His lying did not just involve his definition of the word "is".

I agree!

I can't imagine what things would like now with say KERRY in office...yikes!

But that is just my two cents as an alien and military spouse. I know nothing more!!!

Not to start a political war, but.................

Clinton got a bj, probably not the first bj in the oval office and he lied about getting a bj! probably not the first lie in the oval office, if they were all only over something so stupid. It's unfortunate, and frankly this is the part I'm mad at, it did "set in motion some of the events of recent years," it hurt his party and set it back years. They had to spend time, money and energy talking about something so stupid rather than the real issues and it cost the next election, in theory.

This wasn't the only thing he did or didn't do while he was in office. Our foreign affairs were certainly better then than now, our environment was certainly better then than now, financially we were in a better place then than now. The world was a better and safer place then than it is now...period Of course, this is just my opinion, but I doubt I'm alone and I am not antiamerican for saying any of this. I love my country, I would just like to have it back the way it was. I'll say it, I wish Gore had gotten the office he deserved, and I wish the whole Clinton mess wouldn't have happened. I also think Kerry would have done a better job, but none of that matters because nothing can be done about it. We are in a mess now, a very scary mess! I hope we all make it out of it in one peice.

Flame if you wish...

I think you need to reread my post. I specifically said I was NOT talking about Clinton's problems with his sexual addictions. (Granted, I could have stated it a bit clearer, but that was my intent.)

Clinton lied about other things that cost people lives. I was just pointing that out in response to another post.

Guess I'm confused about what you mean by this?? What lie did Bush tell that caused people to die?? And you do understand that the meaning of lie means someone "KNEW" what they were saying is wrong don't you?? Not having erroneous information, which would be a mistake not a lie. So what was the lie that caused deaths??

I don't even want to think about it - much too scary.

Not flaming, just thinking that 9/11 wasn't planned out in a day. I'm pretty sure that things were escalating when Clinton was in office. Therefore things weren't any safer I agree that financially things are looking grim, but remember we aren't even paying for what Bush has spent yet...we're paying for Clinton's administration...& Bush Sr. still.

I know you probably meant the everyday people, but dh has told me on several occasions that while Clinton was in office they went 3-5 months without a pay check in the army because there was no money.... so if wasn't better for everyone.
Like I said earlier though, I am not the best at polotics so I try not to have too much of an opinion....

I will never put Clinton up on the morality wall, or even on the Presidents Wall of fame. I was upset about his episode but for this reason…

The lie I referred to regarding Clinton about the affair he had, which is what he, is most condemned for as a president. However, the Bush administration lied about going to war. Those things do not compare to me. Now, none of us have access to pre-war intelligence but what we do know is that Osama still does not live in Iraq and that there were no WMD to be found. Rumsfield specifically said on “MEET THE PRESS” that he knew exactly where the WMD were located, now 5 years later; he lied saying that he never said that. These are the lies that put us there; these are the lies that keep us there.

If you want to talk about negligence, let’s talk about Sudan – let’s talk about N. Korea missile launching – let’s talk about pre-9/11 warnings – millions of Americans without health care – Medicare premiums soaring. The Bush administration has done nothing but use “terrorist” as a hypnotic word of complacency for the American Public. They can use it to justify war, and wiretapping. We are sending missiles for peace and freedom, neither of which we have seen a spark of yet.

America is no more safe than it was pre-9/11. We are training the Iraqi army, a country which we have destroyed, and who turns on us daily. We have created more enemies and are now supplying them with power. Did we not learn after giving Osama his weapons in the 70’s and building a tunnel system that he’s using to hide from us today? If I remember correctly, it was Al Qaeda who attacked us on 9/11 – not Saddam.

I second this post:

I don't want to start a political extravaganza. I respect your freedom of speech.

Believe in your opinion…but respect others. Liberal is not a dirty word, either is Conservative.
