Exactly.
And I don't think all democrats think this is a good use of money, I certainly don't think it's necessary (but I guess I'm not the demographic he's aiming for since I already voted for the guy ). Just like all republicans shouldn't be lumped together, democrats shouldn't either.

Ok so first of all...let me say...I'm not registered with any party because I find my personal value system caught between the two.

That being said, at first I REALLY liked Obama. I thought he was refreshing, charming, and of a newer generation. Plus I really like his family too. I also love that he is bi-racial..so even though he is considered "black," he still builds up his mother and he grandparents who are white. I thought that was a great way to bridge racial gaps.

However, as time went on...I just got sooooo sick of hearing him speak! His attack ads are all over the place and they are really really annoying. I feel like he means well....but whomever is running his campaign and manages the money is making him into a hypocrite! If he can't even run his campaign and keep all of those ducks in a row, how he is supposed to keep this nation in order...especially in the chaotic state it's in.

Plus..one other thing...the main reason why I didn't watch the TV spot....when he speaks..it annoys me! He says the same things over and over again. Maybe I'm the only one who sees this...but honestly..when he speaks...HE REMINDS ME OF GEORGE BUSH!! I mean that! Look at his mannerisms.....how poetic his speeches are (he says things without actually saying them). He pauses alot when he speaks too. Drives me nuts when George Bush does that...pauses in mid-sentence. I just want to scream "Spit it out man!!l...I don't have all day to listen to you!"

Anyone else see that?

I mean really...he had my vote in the beginning..then I was on the fence (so I guess that makes me a "swing voter")...but now..I just don't think I can listen to his "crap" for another 4 years! At least John McCain is direct...to the point..and doesn't pause 3 times during a sentence as if he forgot where he left off! Ugh! hate that!

I've already voted so it doesn't matter to me, but I am still giggling about the "Barack Obama Variety Hour" skit from SNL on Saturday. I thought it was hilarious, so I doubt I would be able to watch the broadcast anyway because I would be expecting him to break out in song!

Well, I watched and have to say that I think it was a big waste of money. Basically all he did was to take his currently running ads and intersperse them with personal interest stories designed to tug at peoples emotions. We learned nothing new (execept maybe that his tax cut is now down to those making under $200,000 a year). He would have been better off using the time to elaborate on what he has already said, not repeat the same thing again. JMO

I do not know if it was the best use of his money, as I'm not a political strategist, but since McCain is going with the "Obama is dangerous" and "Who is Obama really?" route in his speeches, it was an excellent response. It's a pity more republicans didn't watch out of just curiousity because they would have seen a truly presidential, qualified candidate speak towards the issues with not one negative word said about his opponent.

Whoever upthread said Obama's negative ads are 'everywhere" - seriously - I haven't seen one. I know he has some, but he also has ads that are not negative and speak just to the issues. All of McCains ads are negative. And all McCain can do is spread rumor, fear, and innuendo to further his campaign instead of talking about what he will do for the country.

Annie's Mom- I can't imagine anyone thinking that Obama's speaking style reminds them of Bush. Obama is one of the most eloquent speakers I've heard in years, while Bush's public speaking ability is non-existent. Obama does pause, but they strike me as thoughtful pauses. While Bush pauses to try to figure out what he's saying, IMO.

As far as campaign finance reform, that has not been a big issue to me either way. So long as the funds are raised legally, I'm pretty much fine. As far as going back on his word to McCain -- McCain said he would not run a negative campaign and that he would not bring up Obama's former pastor, and he's gone back on that & has run one of the ugliest campaigns in history. So, tit for tat I guess. These are politicians. You really can't expect them to keep thier word 100% of the time.

I am just thankful that it will all be over by this time next week. I am so sick of it all.

The reports I read this morning said the ads (infomercials) last night cost over $4million . Maybe if he had offered to throw in a new set of steak knives if you voted for him!!

I watched it and I loved it.

I then watched McCain on Larry King Live. I really like to see and hear everything that the candidates have to say even though I have already voted.

I don't watch infomercials of any kind. I don't think it was the best use of money. I also think all the negative ads on both sides are a waste of money. Spend the money telling me how you are going to make my life better and safer instead of being negative on the other guy.
