Okay. How does this paypal thing work? I've never bought anything off ebay or other places that require it (I know, hard to believe).

I've signed up for an account, but I'm a little confused as to how I get money into my account! Can I use my credit card? Is there are charge? Or do I have to transfer money from a bank account?

The only way money goes INTO your account is if someone is paying YOU with paypal. If you pay with paypal it gets deducted directly from your checking account or credit card whichever you have set as your default payment.....which you can change at any time. HTH

Thanks for the info.
So, is there a charge if I put money from my credit card into my paypal account so that I can pay someone eles? I was unclear about that. Will paypal charge me? And will my credit card charge me?

Maybe I can help. I just sent some money to my brother through Paypal, and used my credit card to do it. Paypal's site had a note about the "Quasi-cash" option. It said that if you choose this option under the category (as opposed to goods or services), then it's possible that your credit card company could charge you a fee. Other than that, I don't believe that Paypal charges you anything to pay someone else.

HTH!

Paypal does not charge you to send payments to anyone. They only charge the receiving seller if they accept credit cards. Paypal is a lot safer than paying someone with just your credit card. It keeps all of your credit and checking account numbers private. One thing you do have to be aware of though is that with a paypal account, you will get a lot of phishing emails. These are emails that look official from Paypal or Ebay but are NOT. If you ever get an email from ebay or paypal, do not click on the link in the email. Open a new browser and go to ebay or paypal and see if you have any messages or alerts. If you click on a link in an email and type in your password, they will have access to your account numbers.

We use pay pal to pay for auctions we've won on ebay. It can be used as a debit or as a credit card type of payment. Initially we were leary about giving out our information from out checking account over the internet but have never had a problem. We don't own credit cards but my husband's debit card from our checking account can be used either way and that's what paypal has on file.

I use paypal a lot, and you can put money in there from your checking account. Every month when I get paid, I send about 20 dollars from my checking account to paypal so I can buy some items off of ebay. I like doing it that way instead of making the seller wait for my paypal check to clear which takes 7 days. It still takes 7 days for it to go from your checking to paypal though. Also, if you have money in paypal, you can put it in your checking account, or send it to someone else as long as they have an email address and a paypal account. Checks payments and receiving is free!
