I used to have the same problem when i 1st started selling on ebay a few years ago...after the 3rd one claiming not to have gotten it i switched to Priority Mail with delivery confirmation as my only shipping auction. I only had 1 person claim they hadn't gotten their's after that...and I had proof it was delivered so they backed off!

I agree, I ship everything with delivery confirm and I do it all from home. I know when everything is delivered and I always send my clients tracking numbers by e-mail through paypal. I have never had this happen and I believe tracking numbers help. I have had other things go on and no they are not fun. Sorry this happened to you.

I would email ebay and tell them that you emailed her and offered a refund and that she never responded to you. I would also send them a copy of the email (hopefully you still have it) and let them know that you tried to work things out w/ the customer but she refused to give you the opportunity.

Just a quick note of warning to those of you relying on delivery confirmation. It is only good if the receiving post office remembers to scan the barcode when it gets there. I used it once to mail a payment for an ebay purchase (she only took money orders), and kept checking to see if it was there. A week or so went by & the delivery confirmation # still said it hadn't been delivered, & I was getting worried that the money order was lost in the mail somewhere. Then the item I ordered showed up at my door (she didn't ship until the got the $$). I checked the website once again, and it still said that it was in transit & hadn't been delivered yet. I mentioned that the next time I was at the Post Office, and the lady at the counter said that is a common problem & they'd had several people complain that their packages weren't scanned in when they were delivered.

speaking of the post office, did you all know that unless you get insurance on your item shipped, if it gets lost or never delivered, then too bad. There is no recourse if it gets lost! That stinks. So now I'm always going to use UPS or make sure I get insurance.

Instead of selling on ebay have you tried www.craigslist.org? I really have had good luck selling and buying on this site. The best thing is that it is free. The downfall is that there is not feedback. I personally do not send money to people as I go to them. When you go to the site you can click on your state and then usually it gives different areas within the state. Check it out as it is great.

I had a similar situation and the person at the post office told me the barcode probably fell off and it happens a lot, so now I make sure that they tape it on

I was suspended from eBay for awhile too because someone tampered with my account...so I got punished for it for awhile. Nice, huh? Someone was trying to sell a CAR on MY account...and the listing fees were $50...I refused to pay it and therefore wasn't allowed to list until everything was settled. It took them forever.

I'd fight it, kwilbanks...with tooth and nail. If you never want to sell there again, that's fine, but I'd be sure my name was cleared first!
