Might also be a good time to start LOOKING for costumes for your kids also. Let us know what you find!

Check your goodwill stores for costumes. I used to find lots of fantastic costumes in there for less than $10, then sell them for over $20-30! Might be worth a look!

I have a few listed right now and listed about 12 last week, they are doing very well. Because I live so close to Disney World, I find costumes all year long at yard sales and I pick them up for $1-$5. Costumes and school uniforms are the beginning of my busy season on Ebay. I messed up this year though, I didn't get the uniforms listed. Now is also the time to list dance wear-leotards, shoes, etc and scouting items for both boys and girl scouts.
