As much as people talk about Ebay as having great bargains, more than half the time I have found the same things elsewhere for cheaper, once you add in the shipping. Now as far as looking for books you can find some good deals, but for most things I have always had bad experiences with ebay. My husband bought an electronic that didn't work and it was a huge mess trying to get the money back, so we had to just swallow the loss. I will never shop for anything on Ebay again.

That really sucks that you have had a bad experience with it. I would hate it to pay for something and it not work. Those are the sellers who make it bad for everyone else.

I used to ALWAYS buy almost EVERYTHING on ebay,, years back. Then, there was a BIG shipping/postage change and it really cut down on the 'bargain' aspect from what I found. Many times, nowadays, it seems stuff isn't selling for that much of a bargain anyway, then, just awful once you add in shipping, even when they're being fair. Shipping for individuals has just gotten SO expensive I think.

I always figure in shipping. since I am a avid bargaib shopper I only get things on ebay I know I can't find anywhere else. also remember some people live out in remote places and for them ebay is still a good deal.

I used to sell on Ebay and went through this small post office and I didn't realize until it changed hands that the lady was actually charging me for media mail, books and stuff. I never led her to believe it was books, in fact it was candleholders, but afterwards stopped because of the shipping prices. I didn't think I would continue to sell them for almost ten dollars more due to shipping rates.

That's exactly it, when I sold on Ebay I was doing the SMC thing, you have probably seen it late at night with the guy from Happy Days. Well I did make money at first, but it began to be way too much of a pain in the butt. Too many others were selling the exact things and everyone seemed to be competing for the price and then you would be left making fifty cents.
