I personally got burned with a DVD- paid for it and never received it- it was only $5. My mom however, paid $50 for what she thought was a Little Tykes Victorian toybox for $65- it had $20 shipping- so it seemed legit. TUrned out it was a little tykes toy box- but it was for the dollhouse- not the actuall toy box. My mom was so embarassed that she was duped that she did not fight it.

A few Christmas's ago I bought some figurines for my MIL that never came...I can't remember what I did though. I've been on ebay for quite a few years now and that's been my only time.

I was duped out of a DVD. Before I could dispute it they cancelled themselves as a seller.

You also have to read the fine print. I have seen people selling children's clothes that show a complete outfit or several different outfits in the picture, but the last sentence in the description is "in this auction only the skort is for sale". I almost bid on one thinking it was the whole outfit.

I have not only been scammed buying but also selling, scary huh. I used to do both and once got ripped off on an electronic, it got mailed, but didn't work at all when we got it. When I sold I used to sell all sorts of things and one lady ruined my whole experience. I sold her two hammock swings and she paid for them well as soon as I mailed them off two days later the money was sucked out of my bank account. When I called Paypal they told me that she was not verified and they could not do anything about it. I told them I had the proof that I mailed it, but there was nothing they could do, even with e-mails from her saying she wasn't paying for them that they took too long, well I couldn't believe it since I can't help how fast UPS runs. I think this particular woman was probably doing this to many others.

I think that many of those people make their money on the shipping and handling because if they put a better price on the list more people will bid on it. When I sold SMC products many of the people did this, they would pay less than $7 for an item that cost $9 to ship, but post it for $.99 and the shipping and handling for more than $18, this didn't make much sense to pay so much for shipping, but they were selling like hotcakes.

yeah I thought I was buying my son Star Wars figures it turned out to be just pictures of them but Paypal refunded everyone immediately and so I didn't lose any money on that one. But my dh bought a phone and it turned out to be locked we sent it back and never got our money or refund from that. A lot of people got scammed on that one. But I bought a mini van off ebay and no problems. You just have to really read the description good and ask questions when they respond save the emails for proof. Don't let a few bad sellers ruin a great thing on Ebay for you.
