THere is a new consignment store opening here and they will give 50% of the sale to you-I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and if they felt like it was better than Ebay or the craiglist?

Thanks

I do both. Sometimes I try it on Ebay and if it doesn't go I send it to the consignment shop. I'll send a lot of shoes to the consigment shop rather than ebay though, I want the buyer to really see the condition of those in person.

I haven't done consignment in years. We have a OUAC here and I've not heard good things about what they'll pay. I would probably try ebay or a yard sale before consignment - unless it's a very expensive item in very good shape.

I do Craigslist for big items and I sent children's clothing to consignment. I don't like selling on ebay. It is too much of a pain to list and ebay overcharged my account and wouldn't back down on the charges. I ended up paying them $150 in fees that I didn't owe (The items sold were $30 total). A collector called and said it would go on my credit report if I refused to pay them.

I have never made much at consignment shops. Ebay always pays more for me anyway.

I used to sell to a local consignment shop. they brought my stuff outright. some places u have to come pick up what they don't sell. OUAC did not pay as well. I would check into independant shop if possible.
