I am hoping someone can enlighten me. I bid on a dress that happened to be gymboree. It was a basic "tshirt" type dress, nothing frilly or anything. I thought bidding $10 was high. This dang thing went for $38.50!! I could have bought the same dress from a different company for 1/4 of that! Why is Gymboree clothing so popular? I have found very few that are cute and the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! MAybe I am just not getting it!!

I'm a big gymboree fan but I'm cheap so I think 10 is a lot too. That is certainly a WOWZA auction, wish I was that seller!

I'm a huge gymbo fan as well. Depends on what you were bidding on. If it was a popular line that is going into season, then it tends to go high. I've sold a few items myself I couldn't believe what they closed for. I bought a pair of pants at TFMaxx for $7 grabbed the matching shirt from ebay for $9 shipped, made some cute bows, dd wore it a few times, then I ebayed it. It sold for almost $30!!

I have bought a lot of Gymboree stuff on Ebay, but I always back off before it gets carried away. A lot of people are willing to spend a lot because you can always make SOMETHING back on it when you resell.

Gymbo has a cult following. The auctions can be crazy. I like their stuff, too, but I'm not willing to shell out huge amounts for used items. Usually you can buy them cheaper new at the store or on line by waiting for their big sales.

They are very sturdy clothes so they make great hand-me-downs. I have never had Gymbo clothes that got holes in them. They are very cute, wash well, and resell well. They tend to be expensive new so I only buy them on sale or off Ebay.

I sell them on ebay, always do well but I've never done that well! lol. I buy them with great sales so I've never paid $30 for even a new dress, that's crazy. I won't pay more than $15 for a dress, but normally I get them for $10 brand new.

I thought I was getting carried away at the $10 I was willing to pay. It was cute but VERY basic. There was a lot of that stuff that went at those prices that day. I guess I am just cheap!!!!
