What would you do if you bought something from ebay and it was covered in pet fur? I've heard of problems with cigarette smoke but not pet fur. I ended up giving positive feedback because the item itself was great but how does one tell in the future?

Send a private message to the seller letting them know you gave a positive feedback but would have preferred receiving the item without dog hair all over it. Perhaps they will be more considerate to the next buyer

We have 3 pets, and I know that it is so easy for pet hair to get on items, even when you're careful. It wouldn't bother me to receive something with pet hair on it, especially if I was going to wash the item prior to use anyway. But the fact is that it bothered you, and you have every right to be bothered.

I would suggest sending that seller a message, letting them know that the package arrived in great condition, but there was a bit of pet hair on it. I would even say something like, "This doesn't bother me, but I thought you should know in case you sell something to a person who is allergic to pet hair. You have such great items - I wouldn't want you to get a negative from someone else for this reason. Have a great day!"

Since I am extremely allergic to cats it is really important to me NOT to get things with cat fur on it. I try to make sure all items are from a pet free home. If I really like it I will ask what type of pets if any they have. I have no problems with dogs, just cats - even after washing it thoroughly sometimes.

I would have left positive feedback if the description did not say Pet Free Home.
