Okay - I need some advice. I am an eBay seller with over 300 positive feedback and I take the feedback thing fairly seriously. Last month, I sold some sleepers to someone and they indicated they were sending a money order immediately. I waited a week and when I still didn't receive, I sent an email asking where it was. The buyer indicated they had sent it out but would check on it. A week later, I receive the money order dated the day after I sent the email. The buyer left me positive feedback but I elected to not leave her feedback. Today, I get an email from her asking to leave her feedback. So....do I ignore it (mama always said if you can't say nothin' nice, just don't say nothin!) or do I leave a negative or neutral stating the payment issue. What would you do?

I don't do ebay, but as an outsider, I think a neutral stating why would be best. Others deserve to know that that person doesn't tell the truth and is slow on payment. I would probably think differently if she hadn't lied.

Do you have a clause in your auctions stating when payment is due?

I would leave her positive feedback because you did get the money. Some people buy and sell so much stuff on EBAY, maybe she thought she had sent you the money but when she checked, she realized she was thinking of someone else or some other transaction. She got the money order the next day, so to me, it does seem like she was trying to make things right.

Yes. I state in my wording that payment is due within 7 days of auction end. If sending MO or CC, to email me to let me know when it would be received. I got her email the day of the sale (2/4). ON 2/14, she responded she had sent it, would look into it, and would get back to me. She never got back to me and MO was dated 2/15.

ITA! The bottom line is that she looked into it, realized payment had not been sent, and sent it immediately. Who knows why it didn't get sent the first time...maybe her husband was supposed to send it, maybe she sent it to the wrong person, maybe her dog ate the tainted pet food and she completely forgot about her Ebay commitments, there could be a million different legitimate reasons that she thought she sent it but didn't. I would leave positive feedback and be done with it. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt in situations like these...especially when you do receive payment in the end.

I'm in your boat, I don't know what I would do. If she hasn't emailed and asked for feedback, I would't have left any. But since she asked for it, I would probably still leave a pos mark, but with a neutral tone, like: Payment recieved, slow to send or something along that line. She DID pay. JMO.

I went through the same thing. I realized I got my money and she got her item and left it at that. I did leave her positive feedback but just stated the that she was slow to pay but in the end I got paid and everyone was happy.
