Hey ladies! Most of you know me as Wanda. I am the new moderator for this forum. I thought I would give a little background on who I am. I am an Ebay powerseller and have been selling on Ebay for about 3 years. A few years ago, I resold my girls clothes to our local Once Upon A Child(OUAC). Seeing so many nice clothes at yard sales in the summer, I kept thinking that I could resell them to OUAC for a profit. I did that for a couple summers, but it seemed that OUAC started giving less and less for top quality clothing. I did this only during the summer but when I lost my job, I used it as a way to make extra money. The straw that broke the camel's back as they say was when I took them a small box of my daughters's clothes in very early Spring before yard sales started, and they chose 32 items and only wanted to give me $16 and some change. I was totally floored, It was only just over 50 cents for each item. They were top brands like Gap, Nautica, Ralph Lauren, Tommy, Etc. I took my clothing and walked out. Alex, my neice, had sold a few things on Ebay before so I was familiar with it. I was overwhelmed at the prospect of selling on Ebay at first. At yardsales shortly after, I found a NIB Barbie babysits from the late 70's. Feeling nostalgic, I bought it for my girls. But after a while, I started thinking about the fact that it was over 20 years old! I knew someone out there would want it. So that Barbie Babysits was my first Ebay item. My daughters clothes shortly followed but I broke them up and sold them in two lots of 16 items. The first lot sold for around $60, the second for around $70. Much better than the $16 OUAC had offered. That is how I got hooked.

This year, I knew I was having a girl and she would be our last child, so I wanted to get rid of my sons clothes and I figured ebay would be the way to go so I could make a little money to buy girl clothes. My husband had sold golf clubs, so he helped me and the clothes ended up selling well, so I also sold my maternity clothes and some other stuff. Now I have just been putting the money that I make into my kids college funds.

I've been selling off and on for about 5 years. I started when my second dd was born and just wanted to try it out. Of course I was hooked right away. Over the past few years, I've really gotten into dressing my girls, so I buy alot of Gymboree, Hanna Andersson, and Naartjie. Those items get excellent resale value. I started frequently the goodwill and CS to find these items and sell them for profit.
Over the last year, I've gotten REALLY REALLY lazy however. I havn't listed anything since like NOvember I think and had a rotten turnaround. I have boxes and boxes of stuff I'm going through THIS week and I should be back in the game.

Ive been a member of ebay since June '99. I cant really remember why I signed up with them. I know Ive bought alot throughout the years.
I have a lot of things that I would like to sell, but cant seem to find the time to post them all. Plus I hate lugging the items to the post office to ship.
Ive sold stuff before - before they had listing fees and such. I havent been using ebay for over a year, until last week, when I bought my son a halloween costume.

This is my problem as well. DID you know you don't have to go to teh PO anymore????? Paypal has made it SO easy. when you get paid for an ebay item, there is a 'ship' option that appears next to their payment. Click that and all you do is fill in the blanks, weight, first class, ect and then click PAY. You can pay for shipping right out of your paypal. When you are done, you are also given an option for an at home pickup so you never have to go to teh PO again!! Just print out the label, and stick it righ ton the package.
This has made my ebaying SO much easier

I got started selling my son's old baby items. Then I started selling things around the house. Now I can't go anywhere without thinking, "I bet that would sell on Ebay"!

My mom found an old tub of Pex dispensers in her closet. To say the least, we made a small fortune selling these on ebay.

We signed up a year or two ago because my dh wanted to look at fishing stuff. The only thing he has purchased is a Boston Whaler clock for the garage! (I wouldn't let him hang it in the house!)
Then I bought some Minnie items for my dd's b-day, however Wanda was SO kind she found me tons of things and sent them to me.
I've been saying I want to sell things for over a year now, probably longer. I'm intimited on HOW to start!!!
I guess I have to dive in and try it. Not sure if things will sell, how much I'm charged to list an item and all that. I suppose I should go look but I just haven't yet.
I am excited to come here and get advice, tips etc. I'm not looking to make it a side business or anything and not to supplement my income, more of a way to DECLUTTER and get some cash for it at the same time!

I am eBay fanatic for 3 years now...and it is extra money for us...to feed the need of seven kids. My post office loves us I guess...it brings them business....they pick up packages at our house every week. My hot months of selling is April,May,June,July,August, Sept,Oct,Nov,Dec. Other months are slow.
I am not a high seller yet but since I took over this year...since dh started last year. He sold on and off stuff of car stereos and etc..
It's been so busy and I am on the roll!! It's my virtual garage sale!! :D Also my great deals for x-mas gifts too!! I am seller and buyer!!
I have learned take plenty of pictures, and be detailed in your listings as possible, state a seller's agreement and yes I do get burned but I do fight for those FV FEES.
I have learned alot this past year and it has been fun.
