I ordered some textbooks from ebay. The product type lists workbooks and study guide. She sent the teacher's manuals and all the teacher guidebooks/answer keys but nothing for the student's to use. I think of workbooks as student use type of things. What do you guys think?
Three of the books are also water damaged with mold in the back of the teacher's edition. She listed that "books are in great shape". I emailed her to ask if the workbooks were coming, thinking maybe they were in a seperate shipment. I did not mention the water damage.
She emailed me back "I hired a young teenager to wrap all my parcels and Ill have to ask him. I have had alot of trouble with this young man. One complaint because a book was water damaged- It was fine when I had him wrap it. Of course teens this day want to be paid for doing nothing constant headache with him . Im sure it will be in another box sent to you. I will check my parcel slips today and respond by tonight. My apology"
I can still use the teacher's manuals but it means a lot more work. I didn't pay a lot for the auction, I guess part of it is the principle. She has 100% positive feedback.
What would you do?

You didn't mention the water damage and she did?? Hmmmm....

I think if I were in that position, you have 2 choices. Since you arent' out alot of money, you can either let it go, or just leave a neutral. Wait for the 'other' shipment before leaving any feedback and make your choice from there.

I emailed her back mentioning that I saw the water damage and asking what she learned about the workbooks. No response. How long do I wait to hear back from her? If she doesn't write me back, should I give her a negative rating?

I would wait at least 1 or 2 days for a reply. HOw old is the auction?? Usually most people try to get everything done in 7 days, if its over the 7 day mark, I would be knocking some heads. Of course, if she mailed the books Media Mail, you might have to wait 2 weeks, MM takes forever.

The auction ended Aug 2. It was sent parcel post but she wrote me to tell me that there had been a health issue. (This was after 5 days had passed and I emailed her to check the status.) She has a 100% positive feedback that I hate to mess with but I still haven't heard anything. The first "There's a problem" email was sent this Saturday. I haven't heard anything from her since Monday when she promised to email me by that night. I'm definitely concerned.
What do I even ask from her? What is appropriate? Or do I chalk it up to buyer beware?

Who cares if she has 100% feedback!!!!??? You did not pay for what she sent. Stand up for yourself and ask for a refund if you are not happy. I don't mean to sound harsh, but it sounds like you are not happy, she is making excuses because she already knows what is wrong and you just need to ask for a refund. If she had 50% feedback, would you do it? I know everybody wants to keep good feedback, but if she really wants to keep hers, she will make YOU happy. JMO

I agree with standing up for yourself. It doesn't matter how much you paid for it, you didn't get what was promised in the item description. Remember you always have the option of not leaving feedback at all.

( I have done this on several occasions. 1 time I didn't leave feedback because I wasn't pleased with the item; it was grossly misrepresented. The seller had a history of "flaming" buyers who left a negative feedback.)

I agree with Claire. Stand up for yourself! You didn't get what you ordered! I had a problem once too, and sometimes you have to keep writing. You have waited long enough, write again. If it said "workbooks" then you need the "workbooks" not the teacher's manual. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. I wrote her last night and she refunded my money through paypal. Now I just need to know what to do with the stuff. I assume she will write with instructions.
Just wanted to say thanks for the reassurance that I was right.
