Hey guys,

I have a question that I know has probably been discussed before, but I was looking for some input.

I have a bunch of stuff to get rid of, and I have done the ebay thing before with some fairly good success. I am wondering if, given the changes in fees, etc. over the last year, is it still worth my time to ebay what I have. I wonder if I will have better luck just selling it outright, or trading it someplace like the barter board?

Some examples of what I have: Discovery Toys games, Little People and Parents brand toys (and others), quality brand clothes in excellent condition, etc.

What do you all think?

Thanks, Kim

I haven't sold or researched any toys to sell but I do pretty good with my kiddos outgrown clothing. Some of the better name things I sell by piece or outfit, the rest I put into lots.
It's really up to you if you want to invest the time and effort. I know with trading on here, I'd want to see photos of your stuff so taking pictures in itself is 1/3 of the effort of listing it on ebay.

Yeah, I take pictures, even when I am trading. You're right, it is time consuming, but I agree, I am one who wants to see something before I buy or trade for it. But what about the fees? Do you notice that they are eating into your profits more than usual? Would I just be better to sell outright and avoid the fees?

hi! Do you have a local free paper you can advertise your things in? That way you don't have to have listing fees and such... I know here we have an online "paper" where you can sell everything from toys to couches to maternity clothes and it is such a big hit, I buy stuff off it all the time.

Ebay seems to go in hot and cold spells and the fees are getting crazy, especially pay pal fees!

Good luck!

I usually try to sell everything on craigslist first and if it dosen't sell, I out it on ebay and it usually sells. I already ahve the pictures and descritptions done for craigslist and then I just copy and paste. I have ended up selling things on craigslist that I did not think that I would and if it dosen't sell it is not a big deal.

That's usually what I try to do as well. I try several venues to get rid of the items and get some money for them. From places like craig's list I usually get several people who want to haggle though, so in the long run I find it better to ebay and get the bonus of an additional feedback or to trade it for something I really want or need.

I have sold some kid's outdoor toys on craig's list. I never got much for clothing on there.
