A little confused. I was bidding on an item that i did not get. Than the next day I get an email (I had emailed the seller with a question) saying that the winning bid was rejected and if i wanted the item still it was mine. So i have been corresponding with the seller. On ebay it said payment was to be sent with money or paypal. Now I am being asked to do a western union ($25). I have to do it to this person who is in Italy. Does this sound ok to do??? I am a little worried about someone stealing my money now.

Walk away from that one. Sounds like a scam to me. I would NEVER wire money. If they don't take paypal when they said they do, then I would NOT send them any $$$$. Report them to Ebay.

Definately say 'no thanks' and walk away! I would also consider reporting them to ebay...

Ebay can be great but there are also a lot of scammers out there. Be careful with your username and password. Do not follow links in emails supposedly from ebay, a lot of phishing emails are sent that way from folks trying to hijack your account. If possible, use Paypal for payments...obviously, never give a seller your credit card information. Check a seller's feedback profile when deciding to buy something. Ebay has a community forum that can be great when you have questions or problems, you can get information from other buyers and sellers.

Ebay says NEVER to do a western union or other wire transfer.
