Hello, my name is Renee and I'm new here. I am a teacher and after this school year I don't plan on returning to work full-time. At that point I'll have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and want to be a stay home or a part-time working mother. We're trying to start putting things in place right now to make it happen.
I'm new to the entire frugality thing!!! I have never even been a clearance shopper!
Today I put bids on two lots of clothing on ebay and it felt so strange. This is going to take some getting used to...
Any tips? Did it take getting used to for you to buy things second hand??

(Please don't think I'm stuck up or snobby. I just honestly was blessed and didn't have to think about money in the past so I didn't...)

I have been in your shoes and understand how you feel! I have always been a bargain hunter, but before it was for fun, now it is for necessity, having gone from 2 nice-sized incomes down to 1. It does take a while (for me probably a year) to get into the mindset of "how can I buy this/do this cheaper?", but it does eventually happen. I found it to be a bunch of small compromises (no take out, smaller grocery orders, cutting back on cable/phone, using coupons etc.) that slowly add up to a good hunk of cash in the end. I am now in a place where I am AMAZED at how much money I "wasted" while working since I now know how to do things so much less expensively! You will get there, too!!
