I am a big Ebayer... I buy and sell!
I would never sell anything that I wouldn't let Evan or the girls wear! I describe everything that I can, and if there are stains or something I mention and set the starting bid at a lower price.
I have been burned many times on Ebay but it just seems like it is happening more and more lately.
I bought a Baby Nay set about a month ago, it was stated that it was in Like New condtion and I was like ok I'll get it! I recieved it, and it was in play condition! It was faded, fuzzy, and was missing the button loop on the back.
I was very nice when I wrote the lady, just stating that I would like to send it back, and get a refund. I never heard back from her, after e-mailing about 10 times!
Well in the past two days I have recieved items that weren't described correctly either! Gymboree strawberry pjs... Both pairs were in good used condtion, as they had stains on the front! YELLOW stains! You can't miss them! SO the lady refunds me half and I leave her postive feedback...
To get to the point, is it just me or is anyone else getting the short end of the stick too!!!

I got overcharged with shipping on one of my recent purchases and one of the items was a little less quality than described. The seller hasn't returned any of my emails, but left me 1 positive feedback (I bought 2 auctions). I won't leave her feedback because I don't want her to leave nuetral or neg feedback gor my other auction.
I have passed up many items because the shipping charge was high for the items.
Lets hope it doesn't keep up like this. I like making money on Ebay.

I agree 110%. I used to buy AND sell on there..only anymore, what I buy isn't what was listed, and what I sell, well it goes for minimum bid, if at all. I am very disappointed. I think they have just gotten too big. That is why I go to the barter board on here...I can swap what I don't need for something I do..and neither mommy is out! Plus, local consignment shops will both buy from me and save me money buying from them.

I sell everything I can for consignment, cause it saves me the touble of ebay. I do ebay a lot of stuff though. I have bought a few things, but nothing I have been disappointed in lately. I am waiting on some Baby Einstein DVD's I bought last week. I hope they are in the like new condition that was described...not that it really matters, as long as they play....and don't skip....

I haven't had any trouble buying anything, but mostly I have bought stuff that is new in package. Selling, some stuff has went well and some stuff has not went so well. I really just started selling in january and I have had a few non paying bidders and that bothers me.

I've given up on buying clothes... I've gotten a few things that were fine but had more wear than I expected. My new rule for clothes is that if I can't see it in person, I'm not buying it from eBay. I stick to things like books- I've had much better luck with that.

I haven't noticed and I buy and sell too. The key is to watch feedback. I also recommend only paying via paypal. If you don't think it is as described, then file a complaint with paypal, mail it back with delivery confirmation, and then paypal will make the person give back your money. You will only be out the money to mail it back. Even if they state shipping is non refundable, paypal will make them give you back the money. When buying clothes, look at their feedback, if you don't see a ton of responses that say good things about their clothes then look elsewhere.

i have trouble with the clothes also. For example-last month i bought a lot of abercrombie clothes for my 11 yr. old ds.The jeans were fine(i guess, they are the worn out look )but all 6 shirts were not what i expected or what she said they'd be.So the shirts are now play shirts only.I was disappointed. But at least the jeans were good since they are expensive in the stores. And i got the lot for 75.00,so it was worth it.BUT i HAVE LEARNED FROM MY MISTAKE AND IF THE TAGS AREN'T ON THEM,I WON'T BUY.

I stopped buying used gymboree on ebay, I only buy nwt items unless it is from a seller I know from previous transactions or has VERY good feedback. Too many people lie about the condition to make more money! They know you won't want neg. feedback so they can get away with it.

Beware of spoofs or phishes that are emailed to you saying you have never paid for something from ebay!!!! I received one in my email box last week. It looks official from ebay, but when you access your ebay account to see if you have any messages, you don't. I followed the procedure for questionable ebay correspondence that might not be ebay, and it WASN'T! If ebay sends you anything you will have a message in your ebay account. I thought if it happened to me, it might happen to somebody else. So beware!! Whoever sends the fradulant email wants you to respond by giving them secure info, so DON'T DO IT!!!! I notified ebay, they checked it out, and notified the proper authorities.
