I have bought MANY (and I do mean MANY ) items off ebay, but had never tried selling. Well I recently listed my first two items to sell. The first sold and the person paid almost right away. The second sold but it's been over 24 hours and I haven't heard anything. I'm probably anxious because it was a fairly expensive item and I'm dying to get the money.

So I'm just wondering....is there a certain length of time someone is supposed to pay in? How long should I wait before I either contact them again or contact ebay? If they don't pay then do I have to pay fees again to relist the product. UGH...I was so excited when it sold, but I'm starting to get a bad feeling.

I have sold quite a few items on ebay.. Have you sent the buyer a invoice? Some ppl like to send payment after getting there invoice.. Others pay right away like your other buyer..
If the buyer pays with paypal and has the funds available in there paypal account your payment will be sent to your account as soon as they pay it.. If for some reason there are no funds in paypal it can take up to 5 days to recieve payment due to the money is transferred from there bank account to paypal account than you.. I believe thats how it works.. and why it can take a little longer... Dont panic, send the invoice and see what happens.. Does the buyer have positive feedback?? If yes, and a higher # of feedback, I wouldnt really worry..
O and Congrats on your first two sales...

Yes, I sent her an invoice about two minutes after the auction was over...like I said, I was excited. I didn't know there was the 5 day delay if money wasn't already in paypal. That may explain it. I guess I'll "try" to be patient for a few more days. Thanks!

Also, aliadam, some people don't check their email right away OR they are bidding on a few things and pay them all at the same time after the last one closes (may be a day or two between them), so I wouldn't worry. Give it another day or two, then send another invoice.

By the way, I've never sold on ebay, but I'm one of the buyers who may end up paying all at once.....I usually send an message to the seller explaining that, though.

Do you have your terms listed in your auctions? It is always a good idea to state "Payment is expected within 2 days of auction end...." or somethinng like that. Always be VERY specific in a listingof how and when you want payment. If you only accept paypal, state that, if not, make sure they know that. There are buyers that will walk all over you if you let them.

I think Ebay has a general rule that transactions should be completed within 10 days. How long has it been?? If the buyer has not responded within at least 7 days, you can get ebay involved. Keep us posted.

There is only a delay in paypal if the money is sent as an echeck. If its an instant transfer the money is there right away. Does it say a pending echeck in your history?
