I have done this a few times and it has ended up selling when I relist it. Just wondering if anyone else does this or do you give up if it doesn't sell the first time?

Great question! I just had a lot of Rescue Heros not sell; inquiring minds want to know ladies!

I do, but I don't like to relist stuff more than twice if it doesn't sell.

I list the first time at the ideal lowest price I would like to get for it. If it doesn't sell, I relist for $1.99 and 80% of the time it will sell the second time around. Sometimes it sells for more than I had it listed for the first time.

After that, if it is still hanging around, I donate it. 99% of what I sell comes from estate auctions, estate sales, yard sales or the Habitat for Humanity resale store near me and I have usually paid 25 cents for it to begin with. The Habitat store will sell me a whole cartfull of stuff for $2!!!! I have even been to a "free" estate sale posted on freecycle. We just went and anything in the house was free. I mostly sell collectibles and vintage fabric and I have REALLY good luck with it.
