Hi, I am buying an item from craigs list that's worth around $125 and the seller is located far from where I live. I told him that I want to buy the item but the only problem is the distance. SO, he offered that he will mail it to me at his own expenses and I will pay him thru pay pal. I never done this before how can I do this transaction without being scammed? (I offered to meet half way but he does not have time)

honestly I would not do it, that is alot of money. Easier if it were ebay and you could see feedback.

If I were you, and I really wanted the item, drive and make a day of it....

Too many people are scammers these days.... JMO..., now if it was $15-20, I would, simply because I would not be too upset about losing that money.

Personally i don't purchase items that are out of my area. I'm sure you could probably find the item closer to home if you just wait a little.

I'm not sure how you can keep from being scammed though. You could pay and then never get it in the mail. I wouldn't take the chance at that cost.

I don't think I would take the risk...I'd either figure out a way to get out to his place to get it or take a pass on it. I know for me, I definately look at where something is located before saying I want it.

i dont think i would risk it either. also i am not familiar w/cl. my dh bought something off ebay and it had like a % of how many good sales the seller had in past .or something on that line... and i was still nervous bout that and it was only $30. also did u say he would cover shipping??? why would he want to do that ? i think he would want u to cover shipping. that would make me think he wants your $$$ or on the other hand maybe he just wants to sell it???

I agree with the others, I wouldn't want to take the chance.
