I use ebay all the time, both for buying and selling. Ebay is suplimental income for me who's a stay at home mom, I sell for my father (gives me a lot of electronics/ham radio things). I make quite a bit of money, I'm sad to see ebay doing this, but it's the ONLY venue I have to sell such things, I'd like to go elsewhere but there's no where to go for things like that. Clothing etc that I sell can go on craiglist. I want to 'strike' but I just will loose out on earning ANY money.
I'll tell you this tho, my feedback is maybe 98.9% or something like that, if paypal is going to hold payments for my auctions, I will be stating in my auction that the item will be shipped out when the paypal payment is release or that I will only accept money orders. I'l also start adding a handling fee to my shipping to recoup some of those FVF's.

I remember getting the email from Ebay last month about their changes. What killed me is that they stated "you've been asking and we listened...we're giving you free gallery blah, blah, blah" Then when I looked closer I noticed they upped their FVF and changed the whole Paypal thing. The whole thing irks me. I used to LOVE Ebay...loved selling on it and buying things on it...but now the fees are getting to be so much people are upping their "handling" fee so their FVF will be less so they don't have to pay Ebay so much...not to mention the other issues. I've never tried Craislist...perhaps I should.

I don't really love ebay or craigslist for selling. So far whenever I respond on craigslist I always find somethings gone and I never get a response to any of my sales posts. On ebay I've actually taken a dive with my investments there (due to the listing/gallery fees). I've tried other sites as well such as mommyauctions. No one bought a thing and the one item I did buy arrived damaged. I am so tired of all of this. Now I'm down to private sales. Online just has not been working out for me.

I rarely sell on ebay anymore,
But I still shop there.

I Look there first for almost everything we buy,

We haven't joined the strike.

DH bought a TV there last week .
I have been bidding on Wii and PSP stuff all week and as usual getting outbid.

I think Ebay is a Huge sellout and I do Miss the old Days. But things will never go back to the way they were.

I have been there since 2000.

I used to sell my kids clothes and they sold Well ,but now with the fees and paypal fees,
It isen't worth it. Not to mention gas cost to the PO and having to take time to package stuff and Address it. And then to worry about feedback and Happy buyers and all that??? Not for me.

WoW! I Am So Glad I Read This Post, I Had No Idea There Was A Strike Going On About Ebay. I Am So Sorry To Hear That You Work So Hard For Your Reputation, And It Can Be Ruined By One Negative Feedback. I Just Can't Believe You Have To Ship The Item, Then Wait Twenty One Days For The Payment. If I Was A Seller On Ebay, But I Am Not. If You Still Want To Sell After All Of This I Would Just Keep In Close Contact With All Your Customers Just To Make Sure They Are 100% Happy. Yet, It Is Not Fair To You Because It Is Just More Work, And It Is Not Guaranteed That You Will Be Able To Keep Your 100% Positive Rating. If You Can I Would Try To Sell Some Stuff On Craiglist.

So is this strike Feb 11 -Feb 25 or Feb 18 - Feb 25? The article says different dates at the beginning and the end?
