If you DO get set up for PayPal, you link it to your bank acct. and transfer it there when you want the money.

Otherwise, you can accept check, m.o., and cashiers's checks. Takes longer, as you need to make a trip to the bank and wait for it to clear.

You don't need to even add your bank acct unless you plan on transferring the money to your bank. All you need is an email address to sign up. Go to https//:www.paypal.com and sign up. Adding your bank acct if you choose too will take a few days. Once you are signed up, payments will be instant.

As a seller on ebay though, you MUST accept ccs. This STINKS however because for every transaction that you accept money, you will charged a fee that paypal will autotomaticaly take out of the payment. For this I have 2 accts set up, one for ebay that I get charged fees, and the other is a non cc acct I use for boards and loops so I don't get charged fees.

I think youll have to verify your acct, I think they send you something in the mail and you have to log into the site to verify your address or something, I forget its been a while for me.

ok, I have a paypal acct, mostly to buy things off ebay. If I wanted to accept money as payment not associated with ebay, like on barter board, do I need to set up new acct? Not sure if that was what Missystuy was trying to say. Both dh and I are clueless with this stuff? TIA

Yes I recommend it. You don't have to do it, but it is helpful. Right now, you have to accecpt ALL forms of payment from ebay, so for each tranaction that you accept money, paypal takes a fee.

I have accts set up, one I use just for ebay, or to acctp C payments from other places. The other acct I have I use only on the loops of the other sale boards I frequent. You need a diffrent email address, and another acct #. One of my accts is hooked up to my checking acct, the other to my savings acct. This will save you a TON of money. LOL

Does this make sense?
