I have sold a couple of things in the past and I am thinking of putting my cell phone up on ebay. Its in pretty good condition, sprint sent me a new phone after my endless complaining and it turns out the phone wasn't the problem it was the charger... oops anyways so its still a good phone for someone. I would be listing it without the charger but with the original box and manual. its a moto krzr k1m. the only thing i am afraid of is it selling for 0.99. does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to make it sell for a decent amount?

What I would do first is go to ebay and search completed auctions to find out. If you do a search for the item, you can also chose to only view completed auctions. That will give you a general idea of what they close for and where to put your starting bid. HTHs.

I often sell things on ebay. You could try putting a reserve price on the item. It costs a little more but it is worth it if you are concerned.

I know that today is the last day to list the item at 1 cent if you list if for 99 cents or less, but it is only like 35 cents to list things up to 9.99 I believe. Although it is nice to be able to list things under a dollar, sometimes it is not worth the hassle.

I often da as the previous post suggested and research what other items are going for and make a decision based on that. It can be rather helpful. It is also helpful to list your item when there are not alot of other similar items being listed. So I would suggest searching not only completed auctions, but current on going ones as well.

I have been selling on Ebay for 4 years, I have my own Ebay store, and to be completely honest, yes do research completed auctions, but cell phones are such a competetive market, do not list is for .99 unless you are either willing to sell for that price or take the chance on neg feedback for not selling your item.

I have taken a chance on .99 cent listings before and they more often than not end with unsatisfaction on my part. The fees are high, I am not going to lie, but think about the end result as well. I would start the listing at the minimum of what I hoped to get... this way you don't waste your time and money with a listing that causes you to go in the whole..which has happened to me... .35 is alot but, if you could get $10 versus $1 .35 isn't that big a deal.

Hope this helped you out!!

I've never had a problem selling with ebay, even when I start my auctions off at a penny. I've sold a few cell phones and they almost always end up going up above and beyond what I expected to sell them for. It's a risk you have to take with ebay.

If you're really concerned I would suggest using Craigslist. I've sold MANY things on craigslist. Just ask for what you think you should get and wait for a buyer.

Good luck!!
