I guess I've been lucky and have only had one minor issue with anyone being overly demanding when it comes to an item.

I did have one woman that was having issues arranging a time for pick-up of a Little Tikes playhouse. My times just "didn't work for her" plus she had a friend come and pick it up ~ she didn't see it herself in person. I was new to selling on Craigslist and probably accomodated her too much. I should have known better, there were tons of people that wanted to buy that playhouse (it was a steal). I should have picked someone less "picky". I've learned from experience now.

I always have a few photos and state that the price is firm, that I accept cash only and that I only communicate via email (just a personal hang-up of mine).

If I get bombarded with emails, I usually weed out the ones that haven't complied with my requests on my listing. Usually it's someone that says "Call me at my number".....

So far I've only sold large things (desk, cabinet), so I only respond to those who can pick it up. The only smaller thing I sold (sit n' stand stroller) was picked up the same day I listed it by a lady who had a 2 year old and a 7 day old baby, her husband did not even get out of the car to help her load it up.

I'm really clear in my listings: Cash only, pick up only. I also put in my listing for them to say when they can pick it up, not just email me is it still available. I hate those emails. You can normally tell by the email if they person is seriously going to show up or not. When you get the "Is it still available?" and nothing else you know they are just wasting your time. A serious person will add something to the effect of, I can pick this item up on ___ at ___. Or I've been looking for this or My kids will love this, when is a good time for pickup. Something along those lines. Even then you never know so I always email the second person and let them know I'll be in contact with them if the first buyer doesn't show. I've only had one person ask to meet me somewhere and I just wrote back Like I said in the listing it's pick up only. There will always be another buyer, don't bend over backward-so not worth your time!

I Dont accomadate anyone unless it is no sweat off my Back.

A Couple times I Knew people were from Areas that I Was Going to be in anyway , and I Once met a lady in kmart and another time in a Mcdonalds parking lot.
both times were small items and I Offered , cause The people were nice and I Would Rather meet them at a Place I Was going to anyway , than wait for them to come to my house.
I haven't Really dealt with anyone who was Rude or Full of Questions on craigslist.
I Have sold big things and small things.

Now Freecycle , Forget that ! I Don't deal with giving away free stuff anymore.
I Get more pleasure out of driving that to goodwill.
