I got this email from Amazon yesterday. Its a good deal and Ive noticed that the prices are dropping on these things.
Whats the difference between using this and your digital camera?

My digital camera doesn't record more than 2-3 minutes of video at a time. This one can record up to half an hour. My kids love using it, and because it wasn't that expensive I feel more comfortable letting them use this than a more expensive camera in case something should happen to it.

This has me intrigued. Our video camera is 9 years old and it is huge! We rarely use it because it is just too darn big to lug around. I feel guilty that we have so much more video of my first son than my second son. Would this be something that could be a decent replacement or is it more of a toy? My dh puts it all on the computer anyway and makes dvds out of our video so I don't think he would mind that part of it. His birthday is next month and it might be a fun present for him since he is the one that has to deal with the big behemoth that we already have.

I've never seen these things! Forgive my ignorance, but I just want to make sure it is what I think it is before I order it.

If you don't use your old video camera, this would make a halfway decent replacement. My only $.02 is that it probably isn't up to great quality or high-res videos. I probably wouldn't record a wedding video using this, if you know what I mean, but it's fine for everyday stuff. We watch our videos on the computer and they're fine for that.

What I like most about this is its ease and portability. I can just throw it in my purse to bring to Tae Kwon Do or whatever we're doing. It also has a built-in ISB plug so no searching for cords to connect to the computer. It's VERY user-friendly. The main reason I suggested it for kids is because that's who uses it most in our family (we have a 9 and 5 year old). They like to put on plays and make videos of their friends (mainly my 9 year old). My 5 year old likes to take videos of his sister and our dog and cat.

Yes, that does help, thanks. Can you put the video on a DVD? Or email it? Or can you just watch it on your computer?

We have one too and love it!! You can make a DVD for a small fee, post it to You Tube, Facebbok, My Space, or email. I would recommend buying the 60 minute one though.
