The Red Cross has one that is $60. It can be operated by hand crank, battery, or electricity. It also has a port for charging your cell phone. I'm on the hunt for one like this, but at a better price.

This one is cheaper ~ Solar / Hand-Crank Powered Emergency Flashlight, Radio, & Cell Phone Charger - 6N, but it only operates off of solar power and hand crank. The biggest plus about the one from the Red Cross was that it operated off of four different power sources. I don't want to have to constantly be hand cranking my radio.

Something that really stuck in my head during one of the hurricane evacuations was the importance of the lowly dollar store rain poncho! Apparently, with all the dead-locked traffic if you or your kids had to go to potty and you wanted some privacy...you could throw on the poncho and 'have at it!'Also during Katrina it hit me how many days one would have to go with dirty hair. I bought some 'turbans' just in case. I am one who HAS to wash my hair daily! Oily greasy hair is NOT an option on my face! And don't forget lg trash bags. I have a list somewhere of some good BOB(bug out bag) items..will look and post later.
VERY important! Don't forget CASH! Low denominations/change. ATM machines may well be overwhelmed or not working. Nothing worse than needing some gas or a bottle of water with no one accepting credit cards or only having a $100.00 to pay for it with no change being offered...
