Perhaps this could be made a *STICKY* in this section?

Do you all know about Amazon's 30-day price guarantee? I didn't see it mentioned here and thought I might let you all know if you don't already. It's not promoted on the Amazon website at all, but they sure do honor it. I've saved a lot of money this way!

It works like this, if an item that you bought from Amazon goes down in price within 30 days of purchase, they'll refund you the difference! There are a few ways to track your purchases.

1. Use the Refund Please website. No signing up for an account or anything. Just enter the product's ASIN or ISBN, price you paid, the date you bought it and your email address. Refund Please will send you an email if the price of that item goes down. You can track as many items as you want!

2. Use the Frozen Warrior website. I tend to use the Refund Please website more often, but if I think of it, I'll enter my info into both to increase my chances of being notified of a price drop. You only need to enter the ISBN/ASIN and your email address for this website. You can track as many items as you want here, too.

3. After you make a purchase, go back and add that item (or those items) back to your cart and click "save for later." Each time you log in and look at your cart a notification comes up at the very top of the page (yellow box with red writing) telling you of both price increases and drops on the items in your cart or saved for later.

Once you've been notified that there's been a price drop you can follow the link in the Refund Please or Frozen Warrior email that you receive. If you find the price drop on your own or through the "cart" method of tracking, you can click on "Help" at the bottom of any Amazon page. Then click on the "Customer Service" button off to the right. It should bring up your latest purchase. Use the "back" arrow to the left of "more orders." Find the applicable order then click on "Email" under the "Contact Us" header off to the right. Put in the order number you're inquiring about or click on the "Choose Order & Items" button to find the right item/order. From the drop-down menu, select "Returns & Refunds." In the message box, just write a short note about paying $XX.XX and seeing that the price is now only $X.XX. I usually write something like, "I am requesting a refund of $5.80 for the difference in price from when I purchased the item to it's current price." Hit the send button.

I usually have my refund within a couple of hours.

Happy Saving!

Jamie

I save a bunch of money on Amazon this way too, but I didn't know there were sites to track it for you.

I stickied it...it is definitely useful information. Especially with the holidays coming up.

Thanks!

This is awesome...THANKS! Now if they would only match other online retailers prices...that would be a sweet deal! I hope these websites you listed start adding more retailers to their list...this is a wonderful idea..thank you for sharing.

How do they refund? Just put credit back on your card? Do they send you an email notification? Amazon is dropping prices like crazy on items I just bought yesterday...I've already requested $14 back!!! I sure hope I get it!

Didn't work for me! The price change was well within 30 days, I mean it was less than a week that they had the lowered price so I was hoping for a $7.50 refund. This was their email to me.

Thank you for writing to Amazon.com.

The discounts we offer on items on our web site do change from time
to time.

I'm sorry, but we are unable to apply our current discounts to
orders which have already been shipped.

Also, some of the prices listed on an item's product detail page are
offered by Amazon Merchants, or by individual sellers through Amazon
Marketplace.

Because Amazon.com does not have a price matching policy, we cannot
match the price offered by another seller on our web site.

For more information about ordering from Amazon Merchants, please
visit the following URL:

Amazon.com: Help*>*Ordering*>*Amazon Merchants

For more information about buying items through Amazon Marketplace,
please visit this URL:

Amazon.com: Help*>*Ordering*>*Amazon Marketplace

We appreciate your business, and we hope you will be able to take
advantage of our discounts in the future. Thanks for shopping at
Amazon.com.

That stinks! I've requested over $20 back!! Also, I found this on AMAZON.COM's website:

Post-Order Price Guarantee

Amazon.com's prices for released items will change from time to time based on a variety of factors. If Amazon.com's price for an already-released item decreases within 30 days after we ship the item to you, we'll be glad to refund the difference in price if you contact us. Please click one of the buttons on the right, and be sure to have your order number handy so we can assist you.

This Post-Order Price Guarantee is subject to the following restrictions:

* Applies only to products that have already been released. Products that have not yet been released but that are available for pre-order from Amazon.com are not covered by this guarantee, but do benefit from our Pre-Order Price Protection program (see section above).
* Applies only to items sold by Amazon.com, and not to items (or prices) offered by other sellers on our site.
* Item prices that are affected by a promotion such as "Buy one, get one free" are not eligible.
* The price of an item after rebate

Sounds to me like they should give you back a refund as long as the item was sold from Amazon.com (no other sellers on their site) and it's within 30 days! Keep trying! I'm still waiting to hear back from them...I'll let you know.

UPDATE!

I just called AMAZON and got really nice lady within seconds. She pulled up my orders and I got about $13.50 back!! So, try calling them. But again, it must be purchased from Amazon.com and not another merchant. GOOD LUCK!

I love this! Apparently, you can do it multiple times too. The price on the Fischer Price Easy Link has gone from $20.99 to $14.99 to $11.99 in the last couple weeks and they gave me a second refund to reach the current price.
