Buy used on half.com. I bought used, but in great condition books from there the other day....4 novels with shipping and tax cost me $22. Each book cost less than $4 a piece before tax and shipping....and acutally they all seem really new, if not new...a couple were still in shrinkwrap. Great quality for what would have cost me well over $50 anywhere else.
Amazon.com also has cheap books....
sorry I can't help with the coupons or codes....
but still you can get some good deals without them.

I use PaperBackSwap : Your source for swapping books online! for very cheap books. Basicly what it is is a book swap. You register the books you want to get rid of and ask other members for the books you want. Even though it says paperback...all the books I have gotten are hard cover and in very good, like new condition. (So much so I would consider giving them as gifts for Christmas) All the new books I recieved cost me nothing...and The books that I have sent go through media mail so it only cost me 2-3 bucks to send them.
Thanks!
Jalayne

Amazon and Borders are paired together. Amazon and Barnes and Noble compete with each other in their online pricing. I check both sites for the lowest price before buying. I have the membership at B&N - itS $25 for the year and worth it to me. However, often, Amazon edges out the pricing of even B&N's member price, but they are often very close. AND, both offer free shipping with an order that's over $25. I'm always thrilled when I get a gift card from either place.

Oh, one more thing. Both B&N and Borders have clubs (Borders is free, but is based on $ amounts purchased over time, then you get a day where you save 10%), and you can sign up for their emails. They both email coupons to me at least once a week - decent ones, so sign up for their emails.

Overstock.com has better prices than amazon & the book stores. They always compare their prices to amazon's and are usually at least 5% less. So usually if I have a specific book, I'll look it up on all those sites, and then go with the ones that is the least (which is usually overstock). You can also try bookcloseouts.com They have great deals but limited selection. So IF you can find what you want there it will be very cheap, but if you're looking for specific book you may not be able to find them. HTH
