My feet are always hurting due to my somewhat high arches....I need comfy shoes and Friends are swearing by Danskos! They are not really in my Mommysaver budget but my feet are killing me especially after a long summer wearing crocs and flip flops with no arch support! Any suggestions???

I am addicted to Danskos - I have been wearing them since college (I am 37 so that was a long time ago! ). They are expensive but mine last for years and I wear them almost every day. So take that into consideration while you try to talk yourself into a purchase. Sometimes sierratradingpost.com has them for cheaper than retail, usually around 30% off. That is an awesome website by the way for all kinds of things. Check it often because their inventory changes frequently and sign up for their emails because a lot of times they have sales like an extra 20% off your order, etc.

Also REI sells them and sometimes they put them on sale. Hope this helps.

Comfortable Shoes, Sandals and Clogs

It's just one of those things to keep your eyes peeled at different places for a good deal. If it's the first time you're wearing them though, you might want to try them on in person at a store. I've seen them at Nordstroms, so if you have one near you, that might work. Nordstrom also has a FABULOUS shoe sale every year, so it might be worth the wait for that!

Great sites...I an thinking I will have to pay over $100! Bummer.... I am one of those who loves to get a super deal....Lately I have spent tooo much time loking for these shoes cheap....I just need to spluge because my feet are killing me and I am wasting energy trying to save a few dollers...where it would be easier to spend this time and save elsewhere...I may just go with Zappos because I trust the return policy~ Thanks everyone!

Twice a year they have a big sale (clothing and shoes)...in early November and then maybe early May IIRC? I really just go by the emails they send me! LOL! Then they also have a separate "Shoe Clearance Sale", which they had back in September. Sign up online for their email updates.

Do NOT - I repeat do NOT - consider it a "splurge" to get shoes that are comfortable for your feet. I used to wear any old kind of shoes until I got plantar fasciitis (I know I spelled that wrong but I'm too lazy to look it up). I was in terrible pain for months, went through physical therapy, had a handicapped card in my car - I could barely go thru the grocery store. The only shoes I wear now are birkenstocks and danskos. Birk sandals for slippers. No tennis shoes. No cute shoes for dresses (altho in the last year I found a couple danskos that look good with skirts at last!. I've had this since 2001 and if I go more than 2 days wearing danskos, the pain starts coming back, and I have to switch back to the birkenstocks. The danskos are my BUDGET shoes.

Best advise - if you ever see a shoe sale at Nordstroms or Walking Company or REI you might nab a pair half off. It's happened to me a couple times. Zappos are good if you know your size & fit. But get rid of those crocs and flip-flops - they will ruin your feet.

Dansko shoes along with their clogs are by far the most comfortable shoes that you will ever own. They are available at J Jill and J JJill.com and also the J Jill outlet. I got a pair of the Dansko margarete clogs, I think that's how its spelled over the summer for under $30. The Dansko outlet is also another great way of getting a great pair of shoes at a reasonable price. One other suggestion is ebay, there are a lot of sellers that sell brand new pairs, but you have to know your size. Good luck in your search, a lot depends on your size, if you where a popular size shoe your chances of getting them at a reasonable price go down. Just remember, they are your feet all your weight is supported on them, aren't they worth a good pair of shoes. Warning though, your feet will not like cheap shoes again!!!! LOL!!!
