or do you prefer to do it the old fashioned way? Do you do like I do and do all of your research online and then call and book it? Do you believe the "internet only deals" or do you find it's the same as booking by phone?

What's the old fashioned way...? LOL

We travel a lot...and Dh is an awesome travel planner. We know what we want and know what we don't want...so we do our research online but also call for things like flights, hotels, cars etc It really just depends on so many factors. We've gotten good deals that were only offered online, and we've also gotten good deals from calling and asking directly.

For things to do - we do a combination of books, internet research and then tips from our hotel concierge or other people in the area we are going, for more 'insider' information.

We haven't had a bad trip yet!

I've gotten some really great deals booking hotels online. I find it so much more convient than calling. For things to do I do my research online but buy the tickets when we get there.

The last 3 years, all online. I really like it. I have thought that if I go somewhere really different, foreign, etc., I may use a travel agent for information. Otherwise, for trips in the USA or Canada...online works great.

I do my research online. I find it is easier to comparrison shop there. I almost always book my airfare online as it is definately cheaper. For hotels, I will do it online or call the hotel directly to see where I get the best price. For vacation packages or cruises, I use a travel agent, only after I have bargain hunted online so I can be sure I am getting the best price.

Last "vacation" we took was to Lake Tahoe for my brothers wedding. Booked the flight on Expedia, the hotel on the hotel's own website, the rental car on Hotwire. I think I got pretty good prices and better than dealing with a person. IMO
