A word of advice. The cheaper the camera, the worse it is.
18 mos agon, I have bought and returned several cameras for my now 5 1/2 yr old. We bought one of the $20 cameras which didn't end up having a view screen on the back so we returned it. (Couldn't tell there was no screen until package was opened). The next one, maybe $5-10 more, had a sticker on it that said "HOLD CAMERA STILL UNTIL PICTURE IS WRITTEN" which makes no sense because how can you tell a child to hold THAT still? Return.
I did get the Fisher Price camera - its easy to use, works fine. Good learning experience. TAKES HORRID pictures. THere is a flash but the pictures are all grainy, out of focus and dark. I printed some to see what they looked like and they went right in the trash.
If I knew then what I know now, I'd get a $80 or $100 REAL camera for her, even at 4 or 5. I use a Canon Rebel DSLR and she does so great with that.
I would not buy a digi camera that is marketed to kids unless you don't care about the quality of the photos.
Just my humble opinion.
