I know we are all busy but when I receive excellent service anywhere I always talk to the manager. I worked in retail in high school and whenever we got a excellent service report we got a free meal ticket and it was submitted in our company file.

We do this often. It's sad that when you ask for a mgr you have to tell the person you are complementing that it is a good thing. As an experienced retail employee & mgr I know that it is rare to get a complement. They really mean alot to the employee and the management/owner.

This is one of my favorites. So many people take the time out to complain but never to praise. It could make quite a difference in someones day or even their job!

When I first got married and changed my last name ...... I called all the companies to see how to go about it (credit cards, bank carde etc). I must have spoken to 10 companies. Only one person congratulated me on my wedding. After we were all done I asked to speak to her manager and told her why. When the manager got on the phone I explained what i had been doing all day and her employee was the only one to congratulate me. I still remember how happy the employee was and how impressed the manger was with her employee. I guess we always forgot to tell people when they do good.

I love this idea and should do it more often!! I have done it on occasion and just laugh remembering the fear in the employee/managers eyes when I asked to speak to a manager.

i remember from my college days of waiting tables how good that rare comlpliment was!

Great idea!!

This is an awesome suggestion.

My DH runs a grocery store with almost 250 employees. It's hard to keep track of everyone. The "problems" are usually much more well known. He says he gets 99 complaints to 1 compliment. He likes to hear about the good employees so he can reward the positive behavior.
