Suppose maybe these might not really be 'Paying it Forward' but....
One...is, before we moved and I worked at a Subway I was the person who opened on weekdays. And I had two people who came in later to work lunch rush with me. One day this girl that I work with came in, and she had closed the night before. She looked around in the back room and asked if I'd seen one of the big hershey bars. I said no, and so... she figured someone else from the night before must have taken it. (she bought it and forgot about it) So after we were all done with prep and just waiting for the rush, I went to the NEX that was right next door and bought her a big hershey bar to replace her other one.
And a different thing... suppose this might be more just... common courtesy? I was working one night and both of the people I was working with were really sick. (the people I was with was a guy, and the a shift leader) You could tell with just one look at them, they felt like crap. When it was time to start sending people on breaks... technically me and the guy were supposed to go before the shift leader. She was supposed to send us first to make sure that we went first, then she got to go. We only got 30 min. but I had them go before I did so they could go sleep for their break out in their cars.
I also tried to just do more that night in general (cleaning, filling food bins, etc) so they had less to do. I offered to stay to close for one of them so at least one could go home and get more rest but... they said it was ok.
