When I was in the MOMS Club I loved how the women teamed together in support of expectant moms, new moms, military moms, moms with children with special needs, etc. I loved what that club stands for, because it's the kind of person I am too.
So it was absolutely no problem for me to immediately think of ways to help our MOMS Club friends when they were in need. I carried those same gestures over into my personal life. Even with people I don't know AND may not even like.
A neighbor back at Vance had a baby. Her oldest son is the same age as my oldest. So a week before her schedule C-section I gave her a coupon voucher pack that included the following vouchers she was willing to call on me for:
A park day for Ray
Sleep In Day for mommy and daddy ~ Ray can come and play
Going to Walmart ~ Can I get you something?
Meals on Me Weekend
After the baby was born, I made a point on checking in with her. I know how difficult it can be to ask someone, especially a stranger, if they can help you out. So I took over my first meal, bright and early on a Friday morning so it was ready to go that night whenever they could manage to eat it. At the same time I took Ray with me back to the house so he and my son could play. That gave them the entire morning to either sleep, clean, feed the baby, or simply relax a little.
Reaching out to new mothers is a huge help and greatly appreciated and it requires little to no money at all.
