With having a mother who has MS and has many things that she can't do. I always try and help out handicap people.
My mom uses one of those scooters while shopping. She has a hard time reaching things that are on the top shelf, so she has to try and stand up and grab it or use her cane as an "extra hand".
I think its an extremely good gesture if you see someone in a wheelchair or a scooter looking at something on the top shelf....Ask if they need a hand. They will greatly appreciate it!

very good idea.
I am always asking for help b/c I'm short and can't reach standing up.
Usually if I find nobody to help. I go to the cashier with a list of items for them to get for me b/c I couldn't reach. they aren't always nice about it either. Hopefully they don't treat your mother that way.
