I have a fabulous daycare provider - actually she is my dh's aunt. Anyway; seems like she is always helping out everyone whenever she can. She and her husband have been through some rough times lately with their dd; and are now actually raising their 2 year old grandson.

Anyway - my kids had a Friday off school a few weeks ago so we decided that we would take over the daycare for her and send her on a day of "me time". It was great; we cleared it with all the parents (whom I have known for years) and she went to lunch with a friend, shopping, and got a pedicure. The kids and I were there from 11:30 to 5:30 or so and had a blast. She got an afternoon away and was so excited she didn't know what to do wth the time.

It was such a little thing that we could do but it made her day.

Wow, that was SO nice of you to do that!! It's those little things that mean so much to people. I'm glad you were able to make her day. Day care providers do such a GREAT service to families, and they often feel unappreciated. Good for you for showing her that you care!!! Kudos to you!

I just had a situation were I needed sitter for my daughter and could not find anyone. My son was in Mother's Day Out. I called the director and before I could even tell her my emergency, she heard the panic in my voice, she said bring your daughter. She has never attended there before, but for no charge, they kept her and I was able to be with my family when my Aunt passed away. What a blessing that we have people like that to help us out.

What a great thing to do! That's the one thing I say that keeps me going is having such great families in my daycare! It takes having great people surrounding you to keep doing nice things and being happy!
