In doing daycare, I am always taking kids on all different types of schedules. As they get older, I always keep my doors open to them at any age. They can go home but they get bored, its not safe, etc. The kids I take in are always considered like family to me. So when they want a place to hang out, play with the little kids, or just feel safe, I let them come to my house. I never charge the parents for these kids. I just feel happy to have them still want to come. The parents are usually happy that they are with others and not home alone. There is one in particular that is also my neighbor. Last year her dad started helping us plow all the snow on our driveway secretly! Our driveway is very long and it takes a long time to clean. We finally caught him and he even came several times last week during the snow storm. We feel very blessed to have such giving people in our lives!
