My 3 yo daughter and I were sitting in our truck before we went into Aldis to do our shopping. I noticed a little old frail lady offering to take carts back for people if she could keep the quarter from the carts. She had a couple of shopping bags with her. After we got out of the truck, and I got my baby into a cart, we waited until the lady came over to put more carts away. I asked her is she was trying to earn money to buy things that she needed. She said yes and gave me this big toothless grin. I told her that if she helped me shop, that I could help her get some of the things that she needed. She asked "Really? Are you sure?", and when I said yes her smile became even bigger. She did come in the store with us, and I had her pick out some items that she needed. She wanted to wait outside untill I was done with my shopping, so I decided to get her some ice cream so that she could have a treat too. When she realized about the ice cream, she tried to give it back to me but I told her that I got it for her. Her face just lit up with joy and she said thank you and God bless you. I can't do that all the time, but I just could not see this lady working so hard at her age just to have some food to eat.

You are so nice! HE will pay you back ten fold........I would have done the same thing. I was going to Aldi too with my son one day and it was pooring buckets! I had a guy come up to me and ask me for some change. I told him I didn't have any. He said that they (his wife was waiting over by the carts) had walked to Aldi's and then it started to rain. They were wanting bus fare to get back home. So, when I went into Aldi, I came back out and handed them a $5 bill so they could take the bus. They were SO APPRECIATIVE and went running over to the bus stop. All I had BEFORE were $20 bills, so I made sure to get some change on my way out...........
