Each holiday my two-year-old son and I make a small token for the residents of the nursing home where my grandmother lived before she passed away in 2004. At Christmastime we made Santa Claus cards and for Easter we are assembling crocheted bunny rabbit pins--tiny wiggle eyes and all! I don't have the heart to visit the facility (without my grandma there), so we place them in a large envelope and mail the tokens along with a letter and a photo of my son helping to make them--I remember how things like this touched my grandma, so I love to do it for whomever resides there now. Plus, it teaches my son to do nice things for others.
