We live in an area with a lot of kids from less fortunate families, so when the flier came home from school about the Book Fair, I thought of a way to "pay it forward". The books start at 1.95, so if I send the teacher $6, 3 kids who were not given any $$ for books could still get something. I wish there was a way to find out how many kids were unable to purchase a book and then buy one for each. You also could adopt a class and all the kids could get new books for less than $40. My son's class has 16 kids and I'm thinking I may give the class a gift after posting this!

That is a nice idea, for my ds bookfair they asked anyone who could to donate a gently used book for those who were unable to purchase a new one. That way everyone walked out with something!

At My DDs Old School They Stopped allowing the Kids to Go as a Class To the Book fairs -

1 ) it is VERY Unfair to the Kids who have NO money , or even the Kid who can only Get One small thing and the Next kid Has 20.00 to spend.

2) Parents Donated Money to the Class for Kids who had no money , then it was found out Later that the Kids Had Money From their Parents , They Just Said they Didn't Have Money , and Then there were the kids in tears cause they forgot their Money.
Or the ones who tried to steal an eraser or Bookmark

It was all So much Drama For Yrs.
I was SO thankful when they made it where A Few Kids at a time could go down , or They Could Come back on a Set evening with their Parents.

I Really Feel bad for some kids and I think going to these as a Class is Very Cruel - when everyone doesn't have the same amount of money to spend.

I Hope your Kids have a Good Book Fair !!

I think it is nice you are trying to Help! I used to As well.
