I had a large upright commercial grade freezer die on me 1 yr into the warranty.
I had called in for a repair the night before when it began making a really weird, loud noise and was told I would have to wait 2 weeks. don't think so, tim!
I called my local store and got the run around but after telling the manager on duty that I was about 2 minutes short of coming over there and standing in his appliance section to tell people don't buy from them because they don't honor their own warranties in a timely manner.... when the freezer shut down completely. I was really upset because I had it loaded w/ chickens that my son raised in FFA and were organic, their $200 food credit wouldn't cover 1/2 of just those alone no less everything else in there too.
My store has a great manager, and while it did take me playing some hardball (nicely but w/ force...)
They actually pulled a freezer from the sales floor, loaded it onto one of their trucks and let me drive it home, where I had a neighbor help unload it and we got all the food safely transferred before we lost it and then returned the truck.
The repair guy showed up the next day and asked about my "loaner" and said he had never ever in the past 20 yrs of working with Lowes seen or heard of them providing a loaner like that to anyone no less even supplying the truck to bring it to and from.
I had it for the entire 2 wks it took to get the part they needed and they came and picked it up when my freezer was back to normal.
Lowes now has a customer for life, I wouldn't even consider buying from anyone else.
