My 14 year old DD has decided she wants one for Christmas () ...go figure.....well, started looking tonight....GOLLY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, then there is the fact we don't have an appropriate tree situation so I will need a stand BIG$$$$$$$$$$$$$, plus she thinks rope is uncomfortable $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!! So, what do I look for and where. I checked out EBAY, but not being sure what I am looking for well.....???...!!!...??? I am so CONFUSED!! Please help!

I haven't ever really looked at them either but I know our sporting goods store carries quite a few. That might be a good place to start so you can ask questions and find out what is available and the price ranges. Good luck!

Since you're in a warmer climate, I would check out Lowes/home depot for any seasonal leftovers.

I know here in Michigan it's impossible to find one in a store after Father's Day. If you're in a warmer climate, you might have better luck. We have a rope hammock from Lowe's - it's a replacement. We have the big metal stand but we've had that for years. I think this is the 3rd hammock we've had on the stand. My sister has a smaller woven hammock, not rope. You can also look in catalogs like The Sportsman's Guide.

I doubt I'd find a hammock now in Pennsylvania, but you might have better luck in a warmer climate. We've had one from Home Depot that just finished its third summer.
