i'd like to find a doll for dd, but i'm upset with Mattel for their low standards and the thought of a Chinese made doll in general doesn't make me happy. i don't want a baby doll, more like a girl doll. i really want to get her Barbie dolls or American Girl, but Mattel...

does anyone know of any quality dolls that aren't made in substandard conditions? i'm willing to pay a premium, it just means dd won't get a lot of presents, but that's okay, too.

Although they are made in China, I'm still getting my girls an American Girl doll for Christmas. We're going for quality of quantity for Christmas.

Apparently Cabbage Patch Kids are still made in GA. I don't think they are particularly cute but they are a classic toy.
