I want to see if anyone has this model: U4080 made by Oreck. Or what the opinion is on any Oreck model. I really would like a Dyson but it's not available through this promotion thing my dh is involved with through work. It wont cost us anything but I see it's worth about $470 or so. I want this to be the last vacuum we'd need to get in quite awhile too. TIA, Kim

call a local vaccum repair shop and see what they have to say. That's usually a great place for info. I have had a Dyson for 2 years and LOVE IT (got it at Best Buy credit with 2 years to pay, just paid it off without any financing fees :D )

HATE Oreck. I actually had such a runaround with the, went to the state's attorney general and bbb. They lied, also. Finally, because I showed proof, they gave up and refunded my money, letting me keep their useless garbage. It spews dirt out behind it, is loud, and just doesn't work. It has a burning smell easily, too.

I had problems when it was new, and twice they sent me a used one to replace it. By used, I also mean filthy. They ignored my letters and calls, too, then tried to report me for not paying for all of it, which I had proof otherwise. No recommendations here. Consumer Reports doesn't like Dysons, and my friends like the Windtunnel.
