So many people in our area have these and they are so neat looking. We are thinking about buying a couple this year for Christmas.

Does anybody else have any? The biggest question is how easily they get holes in them? I would hate to spend that money and only be able to use it for one year.

My only suggestion if you buy one, secure them very well. We had a few really windy days here and someone's Halloween inflatables from down the street ended up wrapped around our front porch railing one morning.

I may get flamed for this, but my opinion is that those inflateable things are SO tacky. They are so 'in your face' gaudy. My MIL's neighbor has about 10 of them on thier front lawn every year and its just too much. Sorry, they just bug me.

I hate those things as well. They might look OK right at first, but they tend to get untethered, and FILTHY. Nothing uglier than a greyish snowman inflatable. The snow globe ones have the most potential to be cool, but they always end up w/ condensation inside & you can't see what is inside the globe. The only advantage I can think of is that they are a large decoration that is easy to store. Folks around the block have about 7 giant disney characters they put up. What is christmasy about Goofy with a santa hat on?

I too think they are strange! LOL our neighbors have them and they look ok for the first week, then they get blown over by the wind, cannot see inside of them... blah

I am more for the light up candy canes, and the santas ( the one that Grizzwold kicked over LOL ) than the blow up ones.

If I were you ( just my opinion ) I would wait til they go on major after holiday sale and buy one or two and see how they fare for a cheaper price! :-)

My kids love penguins so we have a big penguin that came from Dollar General. This will be it's fourth year and it is still in good shape.

I honestly don't like them either. My BIL puts tons up for Halloween and Christmas. Guess what he got us for Christmas last year?.... A snow globe one but you plug it in and it lights up or something. Now, what do you do when you would never put it up in your lawn and it just isn't your style? Maybe give it back or sell it at your next garage sale.

We are that tacky house with some for every holiday. Right now, Tom the Turkey is outside protesting. Ours hold up great. I think it is because we only buy the airblown brand as some of the other brands we had did not hold up. For christmas, we have thomas the train, winnie the pooh, penguins and this year I have a hippo from the song I want a hippo for christmas. You do need to take time to stake them properly and get rid of the stakes it comes with. I use tent stakes as they hold better in the wind and stuff. We have a lot of front yard for them and when it is dark by 4pm you need something cheery. IMO, they need to used with tradional lights and stuff, as to me without that they look silly.
