My parents gave me a sizable amount of money for christmas this year and I wnat to spend it on a nice digital camera. I really do not want to spend over 275, but would go as high as 300. I have researched a lot and really like these two. Canon S2 IS

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Powersho...&s=electronics

or

Kodak EasyShare Z612

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...X0DER&v=glance

Does anyone have any insight or advice? This is a lot of money for me to spend, so I really wnat to make the right decision and I want a good camera to last me a long time. I have previously had 2 kodaks, but they were very basic.
Any help would be greatky appreciated

I have a Nikon 2100 which I got back in 2003. It has been the best digital camera. However, I was also looking for something a little more updated. I am looking at a Vivitar that is 6MP and has a 2" screen. However I can buy this through my company so I can get it a little cheaper than usual. I have also been looking at some with photo printer docks. If anyone has any other insight on other brands that would be great!!!

I have a sony cyber shot. It takes wonderful outdoor pic. and the indoor are good but it has a slow shutter speed so it delays when taking the pic and the kids have moved by the time it snaps. A friend of mine has been studying out digital cameras for a year and she has found out that the Cannon and the kodak are supose to be the top digital cameras.

Good luck,
Kim

I have a Canon S3 IS and I love it. I did have a Kodak and it wasn't all that great. But I truely like the Canon.....and I still haven't learned everything it will do. With a 6 month old I don't have time to sit and read all those instructions. So that is my advice get the Canon instead of the Kodak.

I have the kodak Easyshare CX7330 and it's a great camera. I work at a company that specializes in these products and I am told that Nikon is the best money can buy. I have also been told that anything above a 3.5 mega pixel is not needed unless you are shooting proessionally.
