Has anyone ever purchased or made Concrete Counter Tops for their Kitchen?
I have a friend who made one for their kids bathroom and it looks AWESOME!

I was just wondering about the wear and tear and how much it would cost to have them in the kitchen.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I was thinking that they might be rather inexpensive.

I have never heard of them either. Wouldn't they be difficult to clean??

I've not heard of this, either. In the house we owned in Alabama, though, I did buy textured spray paint a few years back...and I spray painted my 1970's brown marble type counter tops (formica kind!). After it dried, I then used a clear gloss spray paint to seal it all in. It was more difficult to clean than a smooth counter top, but it was a really cool effect. I had a seashore theme in the bathroom...and it gave a "sand" look to the counters!!!

My Bil and Sil have concrete kitchen counter tops. They put them in when they built their house 4 yrs ago. They were cheaper than granite, but still expensive (I'm not sure how much). The company came to their house and poured them right there. Unfortunately they had to come back approx 6 months after they were done and redo the top coating-which is a high glossy shiny finish- it was so very sticky( it didn't adhere correctly). They are easy to clean because of this top coat. They also come in many colors- theirs is black.
